Hologate provides infrastructure for VR arcades and develops immersive enterprise solutions. Now it has secured a major investment.
Founded in 2013 in Munich, the company can look back on a successful decade- Hologate’s location-based VR network spans 42 countries and there are over 450 locations that use its turnkey arcade solutions. More than 18 million people have had a Hologate experience to date. VR experiences offered include the recently launched Ghostbusters VR Academy.
In 2020, Hologate introduced a new division called HGXR, which develops immersive training and simulation solutions for enterprises.
Customers include the German Army and police, the Fraunhofer Institute and MBDA. For police training, for example, HGXR developed virtual training solutions in which police forces can practice high-risk scenarios under realistic but safe conditions.
Hologate expands with multi-million dollar investment
Now, Hologate has secured €8.3 million (approximately $9.1 million) in investment capital to expand its business.
The Series A round was led by Bolero Holdings and Vester Partners, with participation from existing investors, including European early-stage venture capital firm Cherry Ventures.
Investments will be made in both the entertainment and enterprise divisions. “Our aim is to bring our cutting-edge HGXR training and simulation solutions to the global market, with a focus on Europe and North America,” Hologate writes.
It is also investing in new products and hires, as well as AI. “Lastly, we plan to further leverage AI to enable realistic and authentic interaction with virtual humans, unlocking new opportunities and driving innovation.”
